COMO Shambhala Retreat

COMO Shambhala Retreat at COMO Uma Paro has a full range of holistic, Asian-inspired treatments, both for guests and those staying elsewhere in the Paro Valley. We have two private Bhutanese hot-stone bathhouses, as well as a large indoor pool with an al fresco sundeck facing the mountains across the valley. There are separate steam rooms for men and women, and a state-of-the-art gym.

Our yoga studio has floor-to-ceiling views of Paro, flooding the room with natural daylight, where complimentary yoga classes are held daily by our resident yoga instructor. Our nine villas, tucked back into the forest, have their own private therapy suite offering total tranquility and seclusion.

Dining

Much of our produce comes from local farmers-Punakha is considered one of the most bountiful valleys in Bhutan-which means we benefit from fresh vegetable, fruit and dairy products every day. All of this is used in traditional dishes as well as our international menus.

Bukhari

Bukhari is our Punakha restaurant at the heart of COMO Uma Punakha – named after the traditional Bhutanese fireplace. Lunch dishes feature international comfort foods such as pasta and salads, while dinner is a gastronomic treat. Menus are based on seasonal, local produce sourced by chef Tshering Lhaden, who delivers both Bhutanese and international dishes with strong flavours and finesse.

At our luxury hotel in Punakha, In-Room Dining menus—available until 10pm daily—include Himalayan dumplings (‘momos’) alongside healthy salads and familiar western-style comfort options like wraps and pasta dishes.
